According to foreign media reports such as the New York Times and the BBC, Facebook and its series of applications were inaccessible for about two hours on the afternoon of the 8th local time, which is the second time that major Facebook platforms have been down in a week.
Facebook sent a message through its competitor's Twitter account on the same day, saying: "we learned that someone had a problem accessing our applications and products. We are trying to get everything back to normal as soon as possible, and we apologize for the inconvenience." then, Facebook sent a message again, saying that the problem has been solved and apologizing to users. Facebook attributed the failure to "configuration change" and said that the failure on Friday (8th) had nothing to do with the problem earlier this week (4th).
On the 4th, Facebook's main social services broke down in many countries, including Britain and the United States, involving multiple platforms such as Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and instagram. The Facebook website couldn't be loaded for about an hour. Although ins and other web pages can be accessed, they can't add new content or send messages. It was not until six hours later that these servers began to return to normal.
