differences in appearance
Matte
The optical principle of a matte surface is diffuse reflection of light. That is, when light hits the surface, it does not reflect in a concentrated manner like on a mirror surface. Instead, it scatters and reflects in all directions, thereby eliminating specular reflection and making the surface appear dull or have very low glossiness.
When you apply matte FRP gelcoat panel on your projects, you will be able to enjoy softer lighting.
Normal glossy
Normal glossy is between matte and high glossy in terms of light reflection. And if you look at the panel carefully, you will still see the glass fiber in the panel from the surface of the normal glossy FRP gelcoat panel.
High glossy
High gloss performs the best in mirror reflection. And you almost won't see the glass fiber in the panel from the surface of the high-gloss FRP gelcoat panel.
differences on application
Matte
As matte FRP gelcoat panels provide softer lighting, we recommend this kind of surface texture when it comes to indoor building projects, such as hospitals, clinics, restaurants, food processing plants, commercial kitchens, clean rooms, laboratories, slaughterhouses, cold storage......
Normal glossy
If you prefer a little bit of glossiness indoors, you can still choose a normal glossy surface texture for the same applications as matte panels above. Except for that, normal glossy FRP gelcoat panels are also widely used for truck bodies, for example, refrigerated trucks, refrigerated containers, dry trucks, trailers, caravans......
High glossy
High glossy FRP gelcoat panels are more expensive than matte and normal glossy ones. Therefore, it is generally only used for campers or RV which requires more decorative appearance. However, if you focus on the cost efficiency, matte and normal glossy ones are of course also available as options.
