What are the classifications of fiberboard

Jan 15, 2021

Usually divided into two categories according to product density, non-compressed and compressed. Non-compressed products are soft fiberboard with a density of less than 0.4 g/cm3; compressed products include medium-density fiberboard (or semi-rigid fiberboard, with a density of 0.4 to 0.8 g/cm3) and hard fiberboard (with a density greater than 0.8 g/Cubic centimeter). According to the slab forming process, it can be divided into wet fiberboard, dry fiberboard and oriented fiberboard. According to the different post-processing methods, it can be divided into ordinary fiberboard and oil-treated fiberboard. Soft fiberboard Light weight, large porosity, good thermal insulation and sound absorption, it is mostly used as a covering material inside public buildings. After special treatment, a lightweight fiberboard with more pores can be obtained, which has adsorption properties and can be used to purify air. Medium Density Fiberboard Uniform structure, moderate density and strength, and good reworkability. The product has a wide range of thickness and has many uses, such as furniture materials and TV housing materials. Hard fiberboard The product thickness range is small, between 3-8mm. The strength is higher, and the hard fiberboard with a thickness of 3 to 4 mm can be used in place of the sawn timber sheet of 9 to 12 mm. Mostly used in construction, ships, vehicles, etc.
