FRP (Fiber-Reinforced Plastic) gel coat panels are a core material in modern RVs, especially in the sandwich composite wall structure.

This structure resembles a sandwich, with the FRP gel coat panel acting as the outer "bread," encasing a critical insulation core (typically XPS or polyurethane foam), and reinforced internally with plywood or aluminum profiles.

Local damage can be easily repaired with resin and fiberglass cloth at a much lower cost than metal bodywork. Minor scratches can be polished out.
